Surfer washing off after a Steamer’s Lane session.
My year long project helped me to get this shot. I saw the surfer approaching the shower and knew the water would pick up the light in an interesting way. As I maneuvered into position, facing the sun, I was thinking about my exposure. I started with f/8 to hit the sharpest part of my lens, then dropped my exposure compensation down to -1.3 ev so I would preserve the highlights. I was able to shoot 14 exposures while he rinsed off his board.
I think a year ago I would still be looking at my camera setting by the time he drove away.
